Start Spreading the News

This past weekend, we went home to Alabaster so I could help with a wedding shower for my good friend Kathy. It was the perfect opportunity to share our secret with our families! Matt and I had known about our little bundle for 5 days and we were just bursting to tell people! Matt came up with a brilliant plan to break the news. Since we had just gotten back from Disney World, Matt made a cute slideshow with all the pictures from the trip on it. At the end the slide said: "But Wait! The magic's not over!!" The last slide was this:
 

We got to my house Friday night, and only my mom and dad were home. We tried to act very natural and sat out on our back porch and just chatted for about an hour while I worked up the nerve to say the code phrase: "Hey Matt, let's show them the slideshow from our trip!" I pretended to be playing on my phone during the slideshow, but I was secretly videoing my parents and their reactions to the news:

Of course hugs and excitement ensued a few seconds later!

Now to tell Matt's parents! We waited until the next night and my mom had invited them over to her house for a cook out. The plan was to tell them before dinner, but this time Matt was chickening out big time! We ate dinner, and finally I had pinched Matt enough to make him start the dang slideshow. It worked out that Michalyn was there this time so she is also hearing the news for the first time! Again, I videoed their reaction. Click HERE if you can't see the video.


The next day, Brittany got home from Nashville so we played the slideshow for her and Wilson. I couldn't wait to hear Britt's reaction. Of course it was hilarious: Click HERE if you can't see the video.


Matt was also able to tell his grandma, aunts, and uncles, and brother. Of course, they were all thrilled! Matt's grandma's reaction was my favorite. She said "Oh! I love babies and their cute little feet! I can't wait to buy it some shoes." Matt's brother said, "Cool".  We suspected as much...haha!

We had planned to only tell close family, but there was just one other person I HAD to tell: my best friend Melissa who is also pregnant! We had basically spent the weekend together getting ready for Kathy's shower and so pregnancy was a huge topic of discussion! Melissa had even said to me during the shower, "You need to get pregnant so we can have babies together!" I had just laughed it off and kept my mouth shut at the time since there were people around. After the shower, us and our moms were the last ones to leave and I just let it out.  Of course her reaction was priceless. Lots of hugs and happiness and tears!

What a wonderful happy weekend! I am just so full of joy and feeling so blessed right now! Can't wait for the world to know!
